Cubbington Manor  House

Description: This 16th Century farmhouse, required new window surrounds in order to structurally strengthen the building and to restore it to it's original state.

Works: Several phases of works have been carried out including five white sandstone window surround replacements, a bespoke barrelled brick fireplace and most recently a bespoke white sandstone fireplace. All works carried were carried out sympathetically utilising traditional methods. The stone was carefully selected to ensure that only did the colouration match but, also the texture, the joints were carefully grouted, and then pointed with a natural lime mortar. The stonework was blended into the existing building carefully as the building had moved considerable. The brick fireplace was built to a traditional brick bond, the arches were formed carefully to achieve the correct springing points required by the client.

The final and most recent phase has been the building of a bespoke white sandstone fireplace, the client was advised by ourselves during building as to the details that would be in keeping with such a large fireplace, during this two large oak beams were fitted to match the existing oak work throughout the house. The end result is a variety of features that compliment the house perfectly.
